When integrated with DJI Matrice 400, the DJI AP100 Parachute supports compliance with EASA C5/C6 and UK CAA UK5/UK6 operational requirements [2]. It enables organizations to meet European Standard Scenario requirements, including urban operations (STS-01) and Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) missions (STS-02) [5].

Continuous System Monitoring
Throughout startup and every stage of flight, the parachute continuously monitors the gas generator and communication system status. Any detected abnormality is instantly reported through the Health Management System (HMS) in DJI Pilot 2, providing operators with real-time system awareness.
Intelligent Redundancy Validation
Featuring an independent flight control system and dedicated sensors, including an IMU, the DJI AP100 Parachute operates as a standalone safety system. Intelligent algorithms continuously verify flight data between the aircraft and the parachute, helping reduce the likelihood of unintended deployment.
Independent Backup Power
The built-in dual-capacitor power system provides up to one hour of independent backup power [6], allowing continuous flight attitude monitoring and automatic parachute deployment even if the aircraft’s primary power or E-Port connection is unavailable.
Rapid Motor Shutdown
Upon activation, the independent Flight Termination System (FTS) disconnects motor power in less than 600 ms [3]. By stopping the propellers before parachute deployment, the system helps prevent entanglement and supports a safer descent.
Audio and Visual Alerts
Following deployment, the system activates high-intensity flashing lights and audible alarms for approximately one hour. These alerts help keep people clear of the landing area while making it easier for operators to locate and recover the aircraft.
Fast Deployment, Reduced Impact
With an automatic deployment response time of less than 600 ms and a stabilized descent speed below 5 m/s, the DJI AP100 Parachute helps minimize impact during emergency landings when deployed from the recommended operating altitude.
Automatic Deployment
Manual Deployment
The DJI AP100 Parachute automatically deploys when abnormal flight attitude or speed is detected. In supported regions, including the EU and UK, deployment can also be triggered if the aircraft crosses a geofencing boundary configured in DJI Pilot 2.
Operators can manually deploy the parachute using the on-screen control in DJI Pilot 2. In supported countries and regions, remote deployment is also available through the Flight Termination System (FTS) interface in DJI FlightHub 2, using the aircraft serial number and a verification code.
